Ongoing Formation and Catechism Certification
As Catholics, we should always be seeking to learn our Catholic faith. Not only is there so much to learn about our faith to help us grow in love for the Lord, but more importantly, we are called by Christ Himself to pass this faith onto others! We are called to be witnesses of Jesus Christ to the world. Jesus gave the Apostles, and us, this command: “Go therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you…” (Matt 28:19-20).
But where can we go to learn more about our faith? There are plenty of resources out there! But this page is to help narrow it down, to show you some very helpful Catholic resources:

FRANCISCAN AT HOME
One of the most important ones is actually provided by the Diocese of Lafayette, through a partnership with the Franciscan University of Steubenville. It is called “Franciscan at Home”, and it is a free, online-based set of lessons and videos to help you learn your Catholic Faith. It also doubles as Catechetical Certification, so if you are helping out with our CCD program and want to learn more about your Catholic Faith, please use this resource! Even if you are not involved with CCD, this is still most helpful! Here is the link: https://franciscanathome.com/diolaf.
Note: when you click on the link, scroll down until you see the second blue text box that reads: “My parish or school is already registered, and I would like to set up my individual free account under that institution.” Click on that box, and from there, you will be able to create your free account.

INSTITUTE OF CATHOLIC CULTURE
This is another free, excellent resource, and it is another one promoted by our diocese. The Institute of Catholic Culture focuses on, in a sense, “Catholic Liberal Arts”, focusing on matters of culture, art, philosophy, liturgy, and more. They have a full library of videos and lectures, but that is not all! They also do frequent webinars, with guest speakers on different topics. It is a whole different experience when attending a live online lecture as opposed to a pre-recorded one. If you are looking for something a bit more focused and substantial, the institution also provides plenty of free certification courses, either live courses or self-paced pre-recorded ones. There are plenty of things to learn through this resource. You can create a free account and explore, all at the following link: https://instituteofcatholicculture.org/
